INVESTIGATIONS SERVICES

The Sheriff's Office has an Investigations Unit that provides professional investigative support to enhance the quality of life for the citizens and guests of Eagle County. Detectives are responsible for more complex and time-consuming investigations, which ensures patrol deputies are available to respond to calls for service.

Detectives routinely work with patrol deputies and peace officers from around the country on Investigations that often include major crimes.
In addition to criminal investigations, detectives conduct pre-employment background investigations and maintain the sex offender registry for the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation maintains the “Internet Crime Complaint Center” (IC3) where you may file a complaint if you believe that you have been the victim of an internet crime.

The mission of the Internet Crime Complaint Center is to provide the public with a reliable and convenient reporting mechanism to submit information to the Federal Bureau of Investigation concerning suspected Internet-facilitated criminal activity and to develop effective alliances with law enforcement and industry partners.
  • Information received is analyzed and disseminated for investigative and intelligence purposes to law enforcement and for public awareness.
INTERNET CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN

The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) system was created in order to combat the growing threat to children by use of the Internet. The Sheriff's Office is a task force affiliate of the main Colorado ICAC Task Force at the Colorado Springs Police Department.
